The TrailEagle Story

The Beginning: A Passion for the Outdoors

TrailEagle Packs was born out of a deep love for the outdoors and a shared passion for adventure. Our founders, Kevin Burnett and Wesley Casselman, both Eagle Scouts and avid outdoor enthusiasts, spent countless hours exploring trails and camping in various terrains. Their experiences as conservation professionals at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico, highlighted a recurring challenge: the lack of efficient organization and comfort in traditional hiking backpacks.

Identifying the Problem

While working on building, maintaining, and restoring trails and campsites, Kevin and Wesley encountered the same frustrations time and again. Traditional backpacks, with their single-compartment designs, often led to disorganization, discomfort, and inefficiency. Gear would get jumbled together, making it difficult to find essential items quickly. Additionally, the uneven weight distribution caused by poor packing options resulted in physical strain and fatigue.

The Spark of Innovation

Determined to find a solution, Kevin and Wesley combined their practical experience and innovative thinking to design a backpack that addressed these common issues. They envisioned a backpack that provided ample storage, but also strategic organization and easy access to gear. Thus, the concept of the Fold-Out All Access Backpack was born.

The Fold-Out All Access Backpack

Our flagship product, the Fold-Out All Access Backpack, features a unique tri-fold design with three distinct layers:

  • Layer A: Positioned closest to the user's back, this layer is designed to hold the heaviest gear, optimizing weight distribution for maximum comfort.

  • Layer B: Configured for medium and small-sized gear, this layer keeps essential items organized and easily accessible.

  • Layer C: The top layer folds over Layer B, securing items needed for immediate access without disturbing the rest of the pack.

This innovative design allows outdoor enthusiasts to pack strategically, maintain organization, and access their gear efficiently, enhancing the overall hiking and camping experience.
